NFL announces 5 major new rules for fans entering stadiums for 2025 season – what are you banned from taking in?

YOU can never be too safe, and the NFL knows that, which is why they have set five big new rules for fans entering stadiums for the upcoming season.

NFL fans have to be wary of the league’s ban on new items when entering a game in the 2025 campaign.

Fans have time to get ready for Week 1 of the 2025 season, which begins on September 4.

But the preseason begins in early August, and fans have to know the new rules for entering the NFL’s stadiums.

There are five game-day rules that fans have to remember while awaiting entry into the stadium.

First, NFL teams have put together a policy that limits the size and type of bags that can be brought into stadiums.

There are exceptions to the policy for all medically necessary items after proper inspection.

While the NFL encourages fans not to bring any bags, fans can carry the following style and size bag, package, or container when awaiting entry into the stadium.

• Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″ or 30.5 x 15.25 x 30.5 cm. This includes clear backpacks, clear fanny packs and clear cinch bags that fit within the permissible dimensions. Official NFL team logo clear plastic tote bags will be available through club merchandise outlets or at nflshop.com,” says NFL.com.

The second rule is that no buckles, grommets/hardware, or decor should conceal any part of the bag.

Thirdly, fans can carry a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag.

It can be a Ziplock bag or similar.

The fourth rule is that the NFL logo can only be on one side of the bag.

And lastly, NFL.com states that “small bags, non-clear bags that do not exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″ in size, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bags.”

The following is a list of prohibited items, among others.

• Coolers
• Briefcases
• Non-clear backpacks, non-clear fanny packs
• Diaper bags (unless medically necessary)
• Non-clear cinch bags
• Non-approved seat cushions (unless medically necessary)
• Luggage of any kind
• Computer bags
• Camera or binocular bags or any non-clear bag larger than the permissible size (4.5″ x 6.5″)

Diapers can be carried in a clear bag.

NFL.com added that “non-approved seat cushions include large traditional seat cushions that have pockets, zippers, compartments, or covers” and “fans should ask for Stadium Security to have their seat cushion examined.”

Fans carrying a bag that doesn’t meet the league’s criteria will be turned away from the stadium before entering.

Only one large, clear bag is allowed for each person.

Since NFL games are often in cold weather, blankets are allowed as fans can toss the mariel over a shoulder or arm while going through screening.
