NFL chiefs have announced a major broadcasting change with the Packers-Lions Thanksgiving game to be shown for FREE.

Fans are looking forward to tuning in for the epic clash between Green Bay and Detroit in November.

The Thanksgiving Match is one of the biggest games of the year and will be shown on Tubi[/caption]

The traditional NFL encounter on one of the year’s biggest days is always a must-watch.

But the Thanksgiving game will have a very different look about it.

That’s because it will be streamed live on Tubi.

The free ad-supported service, which requires no form of authentication or paid subscription, is owned by Fox.

And it was only launched earlier this year for Super Bowl LIX.

According to reports, Tubi brought in a streaming audience of 13.6million viewers.

That made it the most streamed Super Bowl in history, with the Philadelphia Eagles’ win over the Kansas City Chiefs watched by 127.7m viewers in total.

And Fox will be hoping that Tubi can bring big numbers in for this year’s Thanksgiving Day game.

It’s already making big waves in TV, with Tubi making up 2.2 per cent of all viewing in August.

That makes it more popular than big names including Peacock and Paramount+.

But for those who prefer more traditional viewing methods, the Thanksgiving Day game will also air on Fox’s TV channels.

And it will also appear on Fox One – their new paid streaming service.

Meanwhile, tributes have poured in after the wife of former NFL star Alonzo Highsmith unexpectedly died at the age of 61.

Denise Chong Highsmith was married to the ex-Houston Oilers running back for 35 years.

A memorial service notice was posted to Denise’s Instagram page on Tuesday.

It informed her followers of her “unexpected passing” but did not give a cause of death.
