The league has stated that there was no conclusive evidence that this was the case[/caption]
Despite coming out victorious, many fans have taken to X to claim that a Vikings’ field goal collided with a Skycamera cable.
The 51-yard attempt drifted wide of the post in the fourth quarter, with many thinking the referees missed the deflection.
One said, “Nah, the Vikings just cursed at this point.
“Even god said ‘not y’all again’ and pulled the plug.”
Another commented, “No, it hit the cable. I just saw a video where it clearly hit it. Didn’t matter in the end”
A third claimed, “The ball is perfectly going end over end until it hits the wire.
“It goes off balance the second it touches it, and this replay perfectly shows that. B******* @NFLOfficiating.”
However, not everyone was convinced by the footage.
One fan wrote, “Can tell you from experience… of personally producing multiple events in stadiums and arenas with skycams… no.
“That wire was nowhere near that ball. Optical illusion of the camera.”
Another remarked, “No. It goes under the wire. You would see a wiggle in the wire otherwise.”
The league has since stated that they did not have a clear view of the ball hitting the cable, as noted by Mike Florio.
In the same segment, the Pro Football Talk star reiterated the league’s rules, saying, “If a loose ball in play strikes a video board, guide wire, sky cam, or any other object, the ball will be dead immediately, and the down will be replayed at the previous spot.
“In the event the down is replayed, the game clock will be reset to the time remaining when the snap occurred.

“All penalties will be disregarded, except for personal fouls or unsportsmanlike conduct fouls, which will be administered prior to the replaying of the down.”
This wasn’t the only incident surrounding the ball and the Skycam in the NFL this weekend.
While facing the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Jets had third and seven in the red zone.
Justin Fields dropped back to throw, but defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. parried the ball up into the air, where it collided with the camera.
The referees ruled it as an incomplete pass, but they should have declared a do-over.
Florio noted, “The officials missed it. The replay assistant missed it.
“And the Jets could have thrown a red challenge flag. They missed it, too. The Jets would have had third and goal again.”
