NFL fans have found out how much waterboys earn per season.
As a result, football fans are sharing their interest in wanting to become a water boy.

Waterboys are tasked with providing water and towels to players on the NFL field.
They get to travel with their respective team and be close to the players at practices and games.
So what’s the salary with the waterboys who help keep the league’s stars stay hydrated and be ready to perform?
NFL waterboys typically earn between $50,000 and $60,000 per year during the regular season.
Full-time hours can reach up to 40 hours a week, but their pay can be different based on the team and its location.
Social media users want to work as a water boy after the occupation’s salary number was revealed on X.
“How do I get this job?” one asked.
“Sign me up,” another commented.
“Where can I find an application?” a third wrote.
Former NFL player Jake Thieneman also claimed in a TikTok clip that an average NFL water boy receives around $53,000.
Thieneman made sure to mention that the job is more than just giving players water and towels.
“These are trainers on the athletic training staff. Most of them have athletic training degrees or [physical therapy] degrees and are learning the craft of treating players’ injuries and helping guys stay healthy,” he said.
“They tape guys up, provide other treatments before and after games, and throughout the week.
“So, look at this more as an apprenticeship to learn the craft instead of just carrying water bottles.”
It’s believed that waterboys receive free tickets for NFL games.

The job helps those who want experience with top athletes and opens the door to other opportunities in athletic training or sports medicine.
Waterboys will gear up for the 2025-26 season, which begins in September.
