DAK Prescott’s touching tribute to his mom on Thursday was picked up by NBC cameras.
Prescott’s mother Peggy died from cancer in 2013 while he was still in college.

Peggy would’ve turned 64 on Thursday, the same day Prescott’s Dallas Cowboys opened the NFL season.
And the Cowboys quarterback had a touching tribute to his mom during the game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
A close-up image on NBC’s feed showed the tribute.
“Happy birthday mom,” Prescott had written on the tape around his wrist.
And fans loved the message from the Cowboys quarterback.
One posted, “Absolutely love Dak Prescott, do it for 4.”
Another said, “No matter what you think of Dak, he’s a class act and good guy.”
While a third wrote, “No matter what Dak will always be on my list of just damn good human beings.”
Prescott started an organization on cancer research after Peggy’s death and won the NFL’s coveted Walter Payton Man of the Year award in 2022.
“I want to acknowledge the person who has had the biggest influence on my life, my mother, Peggy,” he said in his acceptance speech.
“My mother was, and still is my moral compass. And through my own charitable contributions, I seek to share her strength and courage with the world.
“She was one of a kind.
“My mother inspired me and motivated me to be great beyond the circumstances.”
Prescott was involved in a flash point just six seconds into the season opener.
He exchanged words with Philadelphia Eagles defensive player Jalen Carter.

And Carter seemingly spat in the quarterback’s direction.
Referees intervened immediately and hit Carter with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
He was ejected from the game before even playing a snap.
And there were calls for him to face a further suspension from the NFL.
Stephen A. Smith said, “WTH did I just see?
“Jalen Carter — the Best Players on the Eagles defense – just got thrown out the game before a freakin snap for SPITTING….SPITTING on Dak.
“To hell with just an ejection. Suspend that man.
“How in the HELL could you do something like that? Inexcusable! Stupid!”
