Roger Goodell’s NFL and the 14-time Grammy Award-winning artist Swift reportedly couldn’t agree on terms for a show.
So, the league announced rapper Bad Bunny as the lead performer on stage at Super Bowl LX.
The NFL announced its headliner decision during halftime of Sunday’s game between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys.
Fans expressed their disgust over the NFL’s decision to feature Bad Bunny and even threatened to boycott the halftime show.
“They wanted Taylor Swift to do the Super Bowl, but she declined so they went with Bad Bunny??? that’s such a joke and a downgrade. like why can’t they ever get any singer that’s not rappers… it’s not entertaining to watch rappers,” one wrote.
“I have zero interest in seeing Bad Bunny performing at the super Bowl; I would have rather had Taylor Swift,” another commented.
“Boycott the Super Bowl,” a third said.
“Not watching the super bowl at all..we need to boycott it altogether,” a fourth added.
Swift was in negotations to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
But the talks fell through after the NFL allegedly rejected her demands.
And Swift reportedly turned down a deal after pushing for a contract that “reflected her value“, a source told insider Rob Shuter.
Bad Bunny has had plenty of success from 2016 onwards as he’s seen his stardom cross from the Latin charts into the mainstream.
He has worked with artists including J Balvin, Ozuna, Farruko, El Alfa, Arcángel, and Daddy Yankee.
Bad Bunny has also made guest appearances on songs by Drake, Dua Lipa, Cardi B, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, and Will Smith.
