Henderson, 26, was a late addition to the Falcons’ training camp roster.

He arrived just days before the team’s second pre-season game of the summer.

Despite initially impressing his coaches, Henderson was released and added to the Falcons practice squad.

The former first-round pick was unable to break into the Atlanta 53-man roster.

And he was released by the organization on Tuesday ahead of Week 4, per SI.

A former Florida Gator, Henderson was the ninth overall pick in the 2020 Draft.

But he has failed to live up to expectations in the NFL.

The Miami native was signed by the Jaguars to a lucrative four-year rookie contract, worth a fully guaranteed $20.5 million.

He was traded to the Carolina Panthers after just one season, enjoying a breakout year in 2022.

During that campaign, the corner made 58 total tackles, two interceptions, six passes defended, and one forced fumble.

After a short spell with the Texans, he landed in Atlanta this summer and initially seemed a hit with his coaches.

“I don’t want to jump the gun on a guy, but you’re talking about a former first-round pick that has elite movement that’s intelligent enough to go out there and pick up a system in one day and be able to execute in reps,” head coach Raheem Morris said in July.

“He seems to be formulating his relationships with his coaches, with the players around him.

“It was fun to go watch him on the grass and be able to move around like that.”

The Falcons have made a mixed start to the new NFL season.

They took the Buccaneers close in Week 1, before beating the Minnesota Vikings.

But the team put up an embarrassing goose egg in Week 3 against the Panthers, losing 30-0.

Wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard was relieved of his duties after the loss.
