THE NFL handed out a $17k fine after a defensive star roughed the passer, despite the officials not throwing a flag.
NFL Insider Tom Pelissero reported that the defensive star will receive a huge fine for his treatment of an opposition QB.

The NFL charged linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair $17,389 after being overly aggressive with Cam Ward.
The 28-year-old crashed into the rookie QB during the Houston Texans’ 26-0 romping of the Tennessee Titans.
The NFL ruled Al-Shaair’s tackle as dangerous due to the blow to the head and neck of Ward.
Al-Shaair is a 28-year-old linebacker who has flitted between teams since joining the NFL in 2019.
He originally went undrafted and was picked up by the San Francisco 49ers.
He played on the West Coast for four seasons before playing a single year in Tennessee.
At the 49ers, he spent the first two seasons on special teams and as a backup before being named a starter in 2021.
His year with the Titans in 2023 saw him play all 17 games and finish fifth in the league with 163 tackles.
Then, ahead of last season, he signed a three-year, $34 million contract with the Texans.
His foul on Ward is not the first time he has been fined while playing for Houston.
He received two financial sanctions last year for both punching and a late hit, as well as being ejected and suspended for three games for hitting Trevor Lawrence after a slide.
Ward had a challenging game for the Titans, throwing for just 108 yards with two interceptions against Houston.
His opposing number, C.J. Stroud, however, connected with receivers for 233 yards and two touchdowns.
This win was the Texans’ first of the season, but they have since followed it up with a surprise victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

Stroud impressed again with even more yards (244) and TDs (4).
The 24-year-old is in his third season with the Texans, having been the second overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Ward, however, is having a tricky rookie season in Tennessee.
He was 2025’s first overall pick in the draft but has struggled to get going in the NFL.
In 2024, he won both the Manning Award and the Davey O’Brien Award for being the best college football quarterback.
He was also a consensus All-American and the ACC Player of the Year in his final season at the University of Miami.
