Irsay had been open about his struggle with addiction in the years leading up to his death.
He died at 65 years old in May.
Irsay had gone to rehab multiple times for issues with alcoholism and painkiller addictions.
Despite speaking on multiple occasions of overcoming his addictions, new reports say that Irsay had relapsed in the two years before his death.
A report from the Washington Post alleges that Irsay was prescribed opioids and ketamine in large amounts by an addiction specialist doctor.
Irsay suffered multiple overdoses from this.
According to five anonymous Washington Post sources, the doctor allegedly gave Irsay opioid pills.
The report also claims that nurses were seen injecting Irsay with ketamine under the doctor’s direction.
Ketamine was notably involved in the 2023 death of Matthew Perry.
It is an anesthetic that has an increased risk for patients with a history of heart conditions and substance abuse.
Irsay died at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where the doctor who was allegedly providing him with opioids and ketamine was reportedly staying.
According to the Washington Post, Irsay was suffering from a heart condition at the time.
His death certificate was signed by the same doctor who prescribed him the ketamine and opioids.
The doctor listed Irsay’s cause of death as cardiac arrest caused by pneumonia and heart issues.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner told the Post that Irsay’s death wasn’t considered sudden.
Beverly Hills police also quickly closed its investigation into Irsay’s death just days after.
Police officers didn’t report any signs of overdose at the scene of his death, according to a spokesperson.

While the police reports deny any overdose, the Post’s reporting indicates that Irsay suffered multiple in the years before his death.
He allegedly had two opioid overdoses within weeks of each other in 2023.
One of the overdoses allegedly left him in the hospital for four months.
In the days before his second overdose, the doctor allegedly prescribed Irsay more than 200 opioid pills.
“I dedicated 18 months of my life to try to care for him… as a brother,” the doctor told The Post.
“We did everything we could to make him as comfortable as possible.”
Irsay’s daughters, Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Casey Foyt, and Kalen Jackson have taken over the Colts since his death.
