THE ex-wife of an NFL player has called out ‘deplorable’ claims about his new contract.
Rashawn Slater agreed a four-year contract extension worth $114 million with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The new deal pays him $92 million guaranteed and makes him the league’s highest-paid offensive lineman.
Slater’s contract was announced Sunday at training camp.
He had been desperate to agree a new deal with the team before camp began.
And the 26-year-old had his wish granted this week.
Slater also recently finalized his divorce from wife Stassney Brown, it was also reported.
The pair married in 2022 but it’s not clear when they split.
One NFL reporter highlighted the timing of Slater’s divorce and when he signed his new contract.
Dov Kleiman wrote, “Legendary: Chargers star tackle Rashawn Slater finalized his divorce from his wife recently.
“Today, Slater signed a $144 million contract extension with the team, including a $29 million signing bonus.
“Talk about good timing.”
Brown took exception to the tweet from the journalist.
“This is deplorable,” she replied.
“I hold nothing but support for Rashawn. His contract is not about me.
“I think we should focus on what’s most important here, and that is his career and his success.
“Please stop including me in this narrative. He deserves his moment.”
Slater posted a picture of his contract signing on Instagram.
He was surrounded by his family at the official signing.
The 26-year-old wrote, “Blessed to accomplish a dream of mine with my family by my side.
“None of this happens without these people and so many others who have supported me along the way.
“Just getting started, LFG!”
