AN NFL player was cut on roster deadline day just a week after being acquired in a trade.
Fans were left confused at the series of roster moves, calling the situation “pointless.”

The Houston Texans released tight end Harrison Bryant, 27.
Bryant was only picked up from the Philadelphia Eagles in a trade on August 18.
But eight days later he was cut by the team.
Bryant was sent to the Texans with a 2026 fifth-round NFL Draft pick by the Eagles.
In exchange, the Super Bowl champions received John Metchie III and a sixth-round selection.
The 27-year-old was a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.
He joined the Las Vegas Raiders for the 2024 season on a one-year deal.
Bryant started just three games, recording nine receptions for 86 yards.
The tight end signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles worth $2 million in March.
But the Eagles decided to move him on after training camp.
And the Texans’ decision to cut him just eight days after picking him up in a trade has come as even more of a shock.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news on X late Tuesday.
One fan replied, “That was quick. Guess the fit just wasn’t there.”
Another said, “Texans move fast! Harrison Bryant didn’t even get time to unpack before he’s a free agent again.”
While a third posted, “What was the point in that then.”
