No matter where I am, the rituals make Janmashtami feel like home: Niharika Chouksey 963505

In the profound teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna unveils a timeless and powerful message: each of us enters this world with a distinct and sacred purpose. It is not merely a task but our divine calling to uncover that purpose and to embrace it with every fibre of our being, filled with love and unbridled passion. As we gather to celebrate the vibrant festival of Janmashtami, we wish and pray that our paths are illuminated, guiding us toward a deeper connection with our true selves and the universe around us. Actress Niharika Chouksey, who plays the lead role of Anu in Zee TV‘s Tumm Se Tumm Tak, talks about the significance of Janmashtami and recalls the best of memories from the festival.

She says, “For me, Janmashtami will always bring back the sweetest memories of my childhood. I remember helping my mother decorate our home temple with flowers, arranging little idols of Krishna, and staying up till midnight for the aarti. As kids, we would compete to see who could make the prettiest swing for Bal Gopal, and my favourite part was the prasad my mom used to prepare.”

“Here in Mumbai, Dahi Handi is celebrated with so much energy and enthusiasm, but at home, we keep it simple, offering puja, decorating the mandir, and preparing prasad. No matter where I am, these rituals make Janmashtami feel like home.”

Happy Janmashtami to all our readers!!
