‘No way’ – Sophie Cunningham turns heads with Caitlin Clark-inspired outfit before Indiana Fever go on to lose

WNBA star Sophie Cunningham stunned fans with a Caitlin Clark-inspired outfit before their team’s eventual loss on Sunday.

Cunningham, 28, has been in the spotlight since being involved in a brawl in which she avenged her star Fever teammate Clark against the Connecticut Sun last week.

Last Tuesday, the guard Cunningham got into a skirmish with Sun players after the 2024 Rookie of the Year Clark was the victim of numerous hard fouls.

The 6-foot-1 Missouri native was ejected for the sequence and has since been a viral sensation.

On Sunday, the Fever faced the Las Vegas Aces in Sin City, and Cunningham gave a nod to Clark over the week of controversy.

A video posted by the WNBA showed Cunningham walking into T-Mobile Arena and arriving at the game in a custom shirt.

She was rocking a shirt that read “Tres Leches” written on it and featured a caricature portrait of Clark, Hall, and Cunningham in their Fever uniforms.

The shirt, which is sold by Barstool Sports, featured the nickname ‘Tres Leches,’ which means the Three Milks, that Fever fans have given the trio.

Social media users noticed Cunningham’s attire and reacted to it on X.

“Her shirt is bad a**,” one wrote.

“The shirt Sophie! Way to have your teammates back,” another commented.

“I need that shirt!” a third said.

The Fever did end up losing 89-81 as Cunningham would go scoreless in 17 minutes.

A day before the game, Cunningham voiced her belief that Clark and the rest of the WNBA’s stars haven’t been protected enough by the league’s officials.

“I think the refs had a lot to do with that,” Cunningham told reporters on Saturday, referring to the brawl.

“It was a build up for a couple years now of them not protecting the star player in the WNBA.

“And so at the end of the day, I’m going to protect my teammates, that’s what I do.”

“And I’m a team player, so it’s all good.”

Cunningham grabbed Suns player Jacy Sheldon’s hair and threw her to the ground last week.

The action came after Sheldon had earlier fouled Clark, and the Sun’s Marina Mabrey shoved Clark to the floor.

Cunningham was fined by the WNBA for the Flagrant-2 fouls.

Cunningham has averages of 5.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and one assist per game.
