NYPD welcomes nearly 1,100 recruits to academy — largest class in almost a decade

The 1,093-person class is the biggest group to enter the academy since 2016, and breaks the record for the largest band of NYPD recruits hired during Mayor Eric Adams’ administration — last set back in January, when 1,045 cops-in-training joined the ranks.
