OLYMPIC medalist Ryan Lochte was served with eviction papers after his landlord claimed he “refused” to pay rent on his Florida bachelor pad amid his divorce from Kayla Rae Reid.
The U.S. Sun exclusively obtained the eviction notice that was served at the Olympic gold medalist’s rental home on August 21.

The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal that Lochte’s landlord filed a complaint against the swimmer after he failed to pay August’s rent[/caption]
According to the landlord’s complaint, August 1st came and went without Lochte’s rent payment.
“Plaintiff served Defendant with a written notice on August 13, 2025, to pay rent or deliver possession,” the document stated.
“Defendant has refused to pay the rent or to deliver possession of the dwelling unit to the Plaintiff.”
Lochte, 41, rented the four-bedroom, three-bedroom property in March of this year, just as Kayla filed for divorce.
The former couple still owns the home they purchased in 2021 for $584,000.
According to the eviction complaint, Lochte’s rent is $3,100 a month and his landlord also asked for late fees, as well as the cost for filing the eviction.
In total, Lochte’s landlord claimed the swimmer owed $4,062 for failing to pay his rent in a timely fashion.
He has a one-year lease on the home.
On Tuesday, Lochte submitted a handwritten letter to the court, which read, “To whom it may concern, I’ve been out of town for business. Came home and eviction notice was on my door. So paying the rent. Thank you, Ryan Lochte.”
The swimming sensation appears to be drowning in debt lately, after The U.S. Sun revealed a slew of tax liens and unpaid medical bills that have piled up to the tune of $275,000.
He was hit with all those collection notices just last year.
RYAN’S RIO SCANDAL
Fans of Lochte would also recall it’s not the first time he was mired in scandal, after being caught in an alleged lie during his time at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
In the early hours of August 14, 2016, Lochte falsely alleged that he, along with fellow Olympians Jimmy Feigen, Gunnar Bentz, and Jack Conger, had been robbed at gunpoint at a gas station in Rio.
Speaking to a local news outlet shortly after the supposed incident, the Dancing with the Stars alum claimed: “This guy pulled out his gun, cocked it, put it to my forehead, and said, ‘Get down.’”
However, after an investigation by authorities, it was discovered that the robbery had never occurred.
Instead, it emerged that the American athletes had provoked security guards after vandalizing the property during a night of heavy drinking.
The Olympian lost all his high-profile sponsors after the incident.
DIVORCE
Lochte’s estranged wife Reid filed for divorce in March of this year.
During their marriage, the pair welcomed three children: Caiden, seven, Liv, five, and Georgia, who is 23 months old.
Lochte, a 12-time Olympic medallist, boasts an impressive record of six golds, three silvers, and three bronzes, making him the second-most decorated male swimmer in Olympic history, trailing only his former teammate Michael Phelps.
The 40-year-old recently released a statement addressing the couple’s divorce:
“I want to take a moment to acknowledge what Kayla shared.
“This past year has brought major changes for both of us as we’ve come to the difficult decision to end our marriage.
“I’m deeply grateful for the life we’ve built together and especially for the love we share for our three children.
“Although this decision hasn’t been easy, I believe it’s the right step toward peace and well-being for us both.”
Last month, Lochte said he found love again with Molly Gillihan, a 37-year-old kindergarten teacher.
In an interview with PEOPLE, the swimmer claimed he is “the happiest I’ve ever been.”
The former Olympian made their relationship public on Instagram over the Fourth of July holiday.
