The route spans 6,437 nautical miles and will run four times a week starting May 4, 2026.

Delta also announced three new routes, with the first route set to take flight on May 6, 2026.

The airline, ranked as the world’s best by The Points Guy, will launch its new flights by offering flyers four weekly flights from Seattle to Rome Fiumicino.

The airline also announced new nonstop flights from JFK to Porto, running from May 2026 to October 2026.

“Delta’s new nonstop service from JFK to Porto is part of seven new European routes launching next summer, giving customers even more opportunities to experience Europe and enjoy our award-winning service and premium onboard experience,” said Paul Baldoni, Senior Vice President of Network Planning at Delta, in a statement

“Whether discovering Portugal or traveling to our other new destinations such as Sardinia and Malta, these additions expand choice for our customers and reinforce JFK’s role as a leading global gateway.”

The CCO at ANA Aeroportos de Porto called the new route a “significant milestone” for the city.

“This new route strengthens Porto’s global connectivity — not only through the direct link to New York-JFK, but also via Delta’s vast network,” Karen Strougo said in a statement.

“It supports the region’s thriving tourism industry, and offers residents an excellent direct link to the U.S.”
