The NFL season is approaching slowly, and The Pat McAfee Show is getting ready for it.

Former NFL punter Pat McAfee focuses on football during the season, and his self-titled show will be live at a preseason game.

On July 31, the Los Angeles Chargers will face the Detroit Lions in Canton, Ohio, for the yearly Hall of Fame Game.

On Tuesday, McAfee revealed that his program will be on location in Canton for a live broadcast on the day of the contest.

“We can’t thank the Hall of Fame enough for the hospitality,” McAfee said during his show.

“We’re going to kick off a new season of the NFL.”

McAfee is expected to receive special guests to appear on his broadcast.

Members of the 2025 Hall of Fame class will make their way to the show.

Sterling Sharpe, Eric Allen, Antonio Gates, and Jared Allen are being enshrined this year.

McAfee’s program will also serve as the opening for Fan Fest’ 25, a new addition to this year’s enshrinement lineup, including numerous free events, per the Hall of Fame.

The 38-year-old has been bringing his show on the road to sporting events.

The show appeared at the Scouting Combine in February.

And TPMS was live at the 2025 NBA Finals outside of the Indiana Pacers’ Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

For McAfee, it will be his first time visiting the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

“I’ve never been to the hall of fame, I’ve never gone through (it),” he said.

“I cannot wait to be over there.”

The Hall of Fame Game will be live on NBC.

Last year’s Hall of Fame averaged over 5 million viewers on NBC, despite the contest being stopped due to severe weather.

Pat McAfee’s playing days

Pat McAfee enjoyed a hugely successful stint before switching to a career in the media.

The talk show star played punter in the NFL for eight seasons from 2009 to 2016.

He was a seventh round NFL Draft pick in 2009 out of West Virginia and spent his entire career with the Indianapolis Colts.

The ex-punter was named to the Pro Bowl in 2014 and 2016, and he was a first team All-Pro in 2014, as well.

McAfee owns the unique NFL record of the highest career net average punting yards with 41.4 yards while his longest ever punt was 74.
