KANSAS CITY CHIEFS QB Patrick Mahomes has revealed his desire to one day take an ownership stake in the team.
The move would follow in the footsteps of NFL legend Tom Brady, who acquired a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024.

The 29-year-old has become a legend in Kansas City and established himself as one of the sport’s greatest ever QBs since being picked up in the 2017 draft.
In his eight years with the team, he has led the Chiefs to three Super Bowl victories, being named MVP on each occasion.
But the Texas native already has one eye on his career after his playing days are over.
In conversation with CNBC, Mahomes revealed his aspiration to one day hold an ownership stake in his beloved Chiefs.
He said: “Hopefully it’s a long time from now, when I retire, but that would obviously be cool.
“Kansas City and the Chiefs have done so much for me, so to be a part of them in any way would be really cool.
“I know they do the minority stakes and stuff like that now.
“I don’t think the Chiefs have done that yet, so maybe down the line, but that’ll be about 10-15 years from now and so hopefully they’ll hold a space for me.”
The Chiefs are currently owned by the Hunt family, chaired by Clark Hunt.
Mahomes already has form for investing in sports projects, especially in Kansas City.
His portfolio of sporting stakes includes Kansas City based soccer teams Sporting KC and KC Current, as well as baseball team the Kansas City Royals.
He said: “I’ve invested in all the sports in Kansas City because Kansas City has been great to me, so it’s really cool to go and watch these games and have a rooting interest more than just a fan, but someone that is invested in the team and it has made watching the games even more fun.”
Outside of his newfound home, Mahomes has also invested in the F1 team Alpine alongside team-mate Travis Kelce – as well as names such as Anthony Joshua and Rory McIlroy.
Mahomes elaborated on the variety of sporting investments.
He said: “I love sports.

“I love what sports not only do, but obviously the product that they put out there in the games, but how they can change people’s lives.
“People that are on the field or court, or whatever that is, or people that are watching. Sports bring people together.
“If it’s a family like at Arrowhead, and some of these other teams that I have invested in, these families come together to watch a game and just enjoy the time together.”

Mahomes has the cash to splash after he signed his 10-year, $450 million contract extension with the Chiefs in 2020.
The eye-watering figure seems like a bargain at times as Mahomes continues to lead the Chiefs to greatness, with the team reaching five of the last six Super Bowls.
