PATRICK MAHOMES is champing at the bit ahead of the new NFL season.
Mahomes and his Kansas City Chiefs team-mates were denied a historic third-straight Vince Lombardi Trophy by the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl 59 in February.

Defeat at Ceasars Superdome has left a bitter taste in the mouths of Mahomes and his team-mates.
And wide out Xavier Worthy has warned the Chiefs’ NFL rivals that the quarterback Mahomes is out for blood next season.
During an appearance on the Up & Adams Show, Worthy was asked who was “more p****d” out of Mahomes and team-mate Travis Kelce.
Worthy replied: “I think Pat.”
When asked to explain his thought process, Worthy said of Mahomes: “He cut his hair, he’s in a different mode right now.”
Worthy insists the entire Chiefs roster is as amped as Mahomes ahead of the new season.
He continued: “I think we’re really locked in right now. Everybody has come back.
“This is my year two, this is Rashee [Rice]’s year three, this is Hollywood [Brown]’s year two in the system.

“I feel like a lot of guys have come back more comfortable.
“It’s made things easier, we’re not just kind of easing into things and learning the playbook.
“We’re not thinking, we’re just going out there and playing.”
The fire in Mahomes’ belly comes as no surprise given how devastated he was by the Chiefs’ 40-22 blowout loss to the Eagles.
He said: “There’s no way around it. Anytime you lose a Super Bowl, it’s the worst thing in the world.
“It will stick with you the rest of your career.
“I mean these will be the two losses that will motivate me to be even better, for the rest of my career.
“Because you only get so few of these [Super Bowls], and you have to capitalise on them
“It’s going to hurt for a while, but how can you respond from it?”
