It has been a long offseason for Mahomes, who has been training following his Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Mahomes shared that the loss left a “bad taste” in his mouth, and that he is ready to get out there and show the league that he is still the best.
“I’m honestly just ready to play football again,” Mahomes told Kay Adams.
“Whenever you lose, you kind of have this taste in your mouth that you want to go out there and revenge that or whatever you want to say.
“But at the same time, I feel like I’ve had to sit back and just listen to people talk and talk.
“And I’m like, let’s just play football and just handle it all out there.
“And I don’t really want to talk about it. I just want to go out and show who we are as a Kansas City Chiefs.”
The Chiefs begin training camp on July 21, and will open the preseason on August 9 against the Arizona Cardinals.
Their first regular season game is on September 5 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
