Pattaya is splashing out on healthcare, with more than 258 million baht approved to keep hospital services running and ensure residents and tourists have access to quality treatment.
The green light came during the city council’s third ordinary meeting of the year, chaired by Council President Banlue Kullavanich and attended by Mayor Poramet Ngampichet, deputy mayors, and senior officials.
The council signed off on two major projects aimed at strengthening public health and safety, both of which align with the city’s Better Pattaya development policy.
The first project involves a 12-month contract worth 258.925 million baht to hire personnel for Pattaya City Hospital. The deal ensures continuity of services after the current staffing contract expires on October 16. Officials said the approval was urgent to avoid any disruption in the hospital’s operations, which serve both residents and the city’s huge number of international visitors.
The second project focuses on upgrading the Pattaya City Veterinary Office, with revised plans for renovations and modernisation. The aim is to provide improved facilities and streamlined public services in the field of animal health and safety.
City leaders highlighted that both initiatives are designed to safeguard the wellbeing of the community while improving the quality of healthcare infrastructure across Pattaya.
Mayor Poramet emphasised the importance of investing in long-term improvements to ensure the city is prepared for growing demand, particularly with Pattaya continuing to attract millions of tourists each year. He said the projects demonstrate the administration’s commitment to delivering reliable healthcare and public services at an international standard, reported Pattaya Mail.
The investments mark the latest in a series of efforts by the city council to reinforce Pattaya’s status as a world-class destination with strong healthcare and public service systems in place.
