PAUL FINEBAUM has hit out at Bill Belichick and slammed his UNC tenure as “laughable”.
The former New England Patriots coach lost his first game in charge of North Carolina before beating the Charlotte 49ers.

But despite the 20-3 win at the Jerry Richardson Stadium, Finebaum has not been impressed with Belichick’s reign.
The sports author has insisted that Belichick has so far been “laughable” and believes he will “struggle”.
Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show “Fairly laughable. I want to be a fan of Bill Belichick, but he makes it impossible.
“The first game was just an absolute and total disaster on the biggest stage he will ever have at North Carolina.
“The second game meant nothing. I mean, they are playing at Charlotte, not exactly the bastion of college football.
“I think he will struggle. I think his comments make it even more difficult (to like him).”
Finebaum, 70, has also hit out at Belichick’s decision to ban scouts from the Patriots.
He believes the decision is down to the coach being a “petty, small-minded man”.
Belichick confirmed he had banned scouts from his former team after the win over the 49ers.
Finebaum added: “I guess maybe because you are 73 years old. But to say what he did about locking the Patriots out, it’s just downright stupid.
“And by the way, we both saw the first game against TCU.
“Did you see a single prospect on his team that anyone would want to come visit? I didn’t.
“But in deference to your players, you can’t say that.
“You want to open the doors. But Bill Belichick has always been a petty, small-minded man.

Belichick will be hoping to make it two wins on the bounce on Sept 20.
UNC are in action against the UCF Knights Football at the FBC Mortgage Stadium.
They will then face 12 Clemson Tigers back in Chapel Hill at the Kenan Memorial Stadium.
