During Week 1, the NFL saw viewership rise across the board.

That is a good omen for Fox’s broadcast of Chiefs-Eagles, which will be shown to 100 percent of the country.

At 4:25 pm ET, the Super Bowl rematch will only have to compete with two other games on CBS in the 4:00 pm ET window.

The matchups between the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals don’t carry nearly as much firepower as Chiefs-Eagles.

On top of that Fox NFL Sunday is adding to the hype by traveling to Kansas City to air its show from Arrowhead Stadium.

The Chiefs and Eagles are no strangers to breaking viewership records.

Last year, the Super Bowl drew 127.7 million viewers, breaking the record set by the Chiefs and Eagles’ previous Super Bowl matchup.

In 2023, the Super Bowl rematch that the two teams played in the regular season drew more than 29 million viewers across ABC and ESPN.

That was the most-watched Monday Night Football game in 27 years.

Last year, the Chiefs appeared in four of the top-10 viewed games of the regular season.

This year, the Eagles already drew in a massive amount of viewership for their Week 1 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

An average of 28.3 million viewers tuned in to the opening game despite over an hour of weather delays.

If it weren’t for the delay, the broadcast was on pace to average 31.6 million viewers.

That would have smashed last year’s opening-game total of 29.2 million for Ravens-Chiefs.

The number that the Chiefs and Eagles will be gunning for this weekend is 27.87 million viewers.

That was what CBS saw last year for the Chiefs-Bengals Week 2 matchup.

It was the most-viewed Week 2 game since at least 1990.

The Chiefs and Eagles have a chance to smash that record on Sunday.

It would be a long shot for the game to set the regular-season viewership record, which was set at 42.1 million for a Thanksgiving matchup between the Cowboys and Giants.

Seven of the top 10 most-viewed games in NFL regular-season history have come on Thanksgiving.
