The Eagles announced on Friday that tight end Dallas Goedert will not play on Sunday.
Goedert has struggled with injuries in recent seasons, and that trend seems to be continuing this year.
Last year, he missed seven games due to a knee sprain and hamstring issues.
This week, Goedert is facing another knee injury.
The Eagles have not announced when Goedert will return to play.
With Goedert out of play, Grant Calcaterra will take over the action as the Eagles’ starting tight end.
He appeared in the game last week, but did not register any stats.
Last season, Calcaterra caught 24 passes for 298 yards and a touchdown.
Fans were bummed to hear that Goedert won’t play on Sunday and shared their thoughts on social media.
“Brother it’s been 1 week. Smh,” one fan said.
“Damn that is a big weapon out,” another fan said.
“Always injured,” a third fan said.
“Tough loss,” a fourth fan said.
“Maybe Hurts will throw to AJ now that he has no TE,” a fifth fan said.

Without Goedert, the Eagles will struggle to get their passing game going after a slow start in Week 1.
Jalen Hurts managed just 152 passing yards and no touchdowns against the Dallas Cowboys.
Goedert was the Eagles’ second-leading receiver in that game with 44 yards.
AJ Brown is going to need to step up after catching just one pass for eight yards last week.
