Philadelphia Eagles suffers yet more devastating injury news as Super Bowl winner leaves game midway through Cowboys win

During the opening kickoff, the Eagles lost a special teams ace to a devestating injury.

Ben VanSumeren went down holding his knee as medics then rushed to tend to the 25-year-old.

He’s feared to have suffered an ACL injury.

Then, starting left guard Landon Dickerson left in the fourth quarter.

The 26-year-old re-injured his back when star running back Saquon Barkley ran into the back of him.

The three-time Pro Bowler Dickerson was sent to the locker room for an X-ray, and Brett Toth replaced him.

Dickerson underwent knee surgery on his meniscus on August 13.

The five-year veteran was on the injury report during the week with a back issue.

Dickerson was able to participate in two practices before he was removed from the report on Wednesday.

But it seemed that Dickerson was fighting through the problem during the contest.

The Eagles have yet to reveal a key update on VanSumerson and Dickerson’s injury.

But VanSumeren received the far worse injury.

He was seen in a clinch with an opponent before twisting his knee.

VanSumeren will almost certainly miss the rest of the campaign.

The pair have played with the team through their whole NFL careers.

Dickerson’s injury status will be worth monitoring as the Eagles will prepare to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2.

It will be a rematch of Super Bowl 59 where the Eagles won, 40-22, in February.
