Phuket is gearing up to host the highly anticipated Phuket Health Expo 2025 next month, as the island sets its sights on becoming Asia’s premier wellness hub.
With over 40 stunning beaches and world-renowned resorts, Phuket is positioning itself as a World Class Wellness Hub of Asia, and the upcoming expo will play a key role in this ambitious plan.
The event, running from July 2–6 at Central Festival Phuket, will shine a spotlight on the island’s growing wellness sector under the theme Living in Paradise. The expo will feature an array of activities designed to promote Phuket’s unique offerings as a destination for health and wellness tourism.
During a recent briefing at Angsana Laguna Phuket, one of the island’s top five-star resorts, local leaders discussed the significance of the expo.
Among those present were Phuket’s deputy provincial governor Samawit Supanpai, public health expert Dr Buncha Khakong, Phuket Chamber of Commerce President Kongsak Khoopongsakorn, and Paul John Hawco, executive director of Banyan Group Integrated Wellbeing.
Samawit emphasised that hosting the expo is a crucial step in positioning Phuket as a global leader in sustainable wellness tourism.
“Phuket is not only a destination for relaxation but a place where wellness and healthcare converge,” he said. “With internationally recognised hospitals and expertise in Thai traditional medicine, the island is already a hub for those seeking health and wellness treatments.”
In addition to its natural beauty and cultural offerings, Phuket boasts a thriving wellness industry. The island ranks second in Thailand for wellness-related businesses, just behind Bangkok.
From spas and organic food to fitness, yoga, and anti-ageing treatments, Phuket is rapidly becoming a top destination for health-conscious travellers.
Last year, Thailand’s wellness industry was valued at around 1 trillion baht, a clear indicator of its growing importance.
The expo aligns with the Thai government’s vision to make the country the leading medical hub in Asia. It also aims to boost sustainable local economic growth by attracting international wellness tourism.
Kongsak highlighted several exciting features of the event, including a 3D immersive stage presentation, CEO talks with wellness industry leaders, and a Wellness Map showcasing health-focused spots around the island.
Visitors can also take advantage of free health check-ups, fitness activities, Thai boxing demonstrations, music performances, and wellness workshops. Special tourism packages will be available, making it an unmissable event for those seeking both relaxation and rejuvenation, reported Bangkok Post.
As the world’s attention shifts toward health and wellness, Phuket is primed to be at the forefront of this transformative industry.
