Pittsburgh Steelers tipped to sign $101.9 million Pro-Bowl wide receiver to give Aaron Rodgers ultimate weapon

THE Pittsburgh Steelers have been predicted to sign a multi-Pro Bowl wide receiver who would hand Aaron Rodgers a weapon on offense.

The Steelers could look to add a wideout with just a few weeks left until the 2025 regular season.

Mike Tomlin and his Pittsburgh squad added two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver DK Metcalf in an offseason trade with the Seattle Seahawks.

But the team proceeded to trade star George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys and have a less-than-desirable wide receiver room after Metcalf.

Calvin Austin III, who suffered an oblique injury and missed most of training camp, and second-year player Roman Wilson, who missed his rookie season due to injury, are the team’s No. 2 and No. 3 wideouts.

So the Steelers have been tipped to sign free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Plenty of fans have called for the Steelers to sign Beckham after his recent comments on the four-time NFL MVP Rodgers and head coach Tomlin.

The 32-year-old said last month that he’s spoken with the Steelers quarterback during the offseason and hinted that the team could be an option for him this season.

“I love [Rodgers], and we’ve had conversations,” Beckham said about playing with Rodgers on the June 30 edition of the Club Random Podcast with Bill Maher.

“I won’t say that it’s not a possiblity and I won’t say that I haven’t had any communication.

‘”… F****** love Tomlin.’”… F****** love Tomlin.

“I was actually supposed to be drafted to the Steelers.”

Beckham has a stellar resume as he has five 1,000-yard-plus seasons and won a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021.

However, he has dealt with numerous season-ending injuries in his 10-year career.

Beckham’s coming off a brutal campaign in which he recorded just nine receptions for 55 yards and no touchdowns in nine games.

And he hasn’t had a Pro Bowl campaign since 2016.

The Steelers could instead look to sign free agents Amari Cooper, Gabe Davis, Nelson Agholor, and Tyler Boyd, among others.

They could also make a blockbuster move and trade for Washington Commanders star Terry McClaurin, who is currently in a contract dispute.

While McLaurin requested a trade from the team, it’s not expected that the Commanders will deal him.

Still, it has been reported that the Steelers are looking to add to their room in the next “10 to 12 days.”

In the meantime, they’ll prepare to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their second preseason game on Saturday.
