TWITCH star Asmongold has halted his streaming career.
The gamer, 33, told millions of fans he is stepping away indefinitely after a devastating misdiagnosis.

Zack Hoyt, also known as Asmongold, told his fans that his dad was diagnosed with originally with pneumonia.
However, his dad’s actual diagnosis is pancreatic cancer.
PRIORITIES STRAIGHT
On September 8, 2025 the Texas streamer confirmed he is quitting the spotlight for now.
“Rest assured, there’s nothing I’d rather do more than go live and continue on like I always do but my obligation to my father must take priority,” said Asmongold.
“I don’t have a timeframe or an expectation because of how uncertain things are right now, but I’ll update you all when I know more myself,” Asmongold continued to say.
Asmongold’s streams will be on hiatus until his father’s health problems are completely resolved.
CHEMOTHERAPY TURNED TRAGIC
Asmongold revealed his dad was left in a bad way after greuling chemo sessions which they started after advice from an oncologist.
“The first week was fine but the day of the second treatment, but the end of it he was so fu**ed up and had so much difficulty breathing that he didn’t sleep more than an hour,” said Asmongold and reported by Primetimer.
His father could barely sleep an hour at a time and was so weak he needed constant care.
The devoted son even slept on the floor besides his dad’s bed to be close incase something happens.
Following another medical test his father had low blood pressure. He said his father is improving but not enough to make him feel better.
He confirmed his streams will be on hiatus until his father is better.

HEARTBREAKING DECISION
Asmongold, who previously cared for his sick mom, said there’s no timeline for his return.
He appeared on Battlefield 6. A first-person shooter game and a chatting stream on August 8, 2025, and hinted the announcement but never made it final.
At the time he cited personal problems and said he was trying to enjoy everyday.
He said if he ever chose to take. a break it will be the longest and for a few months.
He also revealed burnout from frequent streaming sessions. He also discussed how he was a caretaker for his mom from the ages of 23 to 31.
“Now, I’m 35, and I have to help my dad with a bunch of stuff, too, and I’m gonna have to help him a lot more. I hope that he will get better, but in getting better, he will also age over time, which will require more help from me. It’s hard to manage everything,” said Asmongold.
For now, the king of MMO streams is focused on one thing being a son.
