SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — According to the South Dakota Rural Electric Association’s website, over 300 people are without power after a tornado swept through the area Monday night.
The website states that 366 members are currently without power. The highest number of outages is reported in Lincoln County, with 123 members without power as of 7:50 a.m. Tuesday.
According to a social media post from the Rosebud Electric Cooperative, one of the outages was due to a damaged substation.
“We have the Bonesteel Substation shut down to the Bonsteel and Herrick area due to Tornado damage. We will assess the damage and restore power to unaffected areas. We have other outages out in other areas. Our crews are out now repairing now,” the group said Monday.
