Presidential Fitness Test reinstated by Donald Trump has major element removed after lobbying by Pat McAfee

PAT McAfee has seemingly made enough noise to change a presidential program.

The Presidential Fitness Test is being reintroduced by Donald Trump, but McAfee was vocal about changing part of it.

The Presidential Fitness Award is given to the top 15 percent of test takers.

One of the biggest challenges for those taking the test was a segment where one has to reach a certain distance while sitting flat on the ground.

Like many others, McAfee hated this part of the test and made sure his opinion was heard.

“I’ve just never been able to be a flexible person,” he said on his show.

“I’ve never wanted to be a flexible person. And that little blue box bullied me. I mean it bullied me.

“Those un-athletic little f***s. These little kids just sitting down there. And they’re getting celebrated as if!

“Let’s get a ball! Let’s do it! Any of these other things! We’ve got it! I felt like that thing bullied me.

“Legitimately took me out.”

The Presidential Fitness Test was phased out in 2012 by President Barack Obama.

He replaced it with the Presidential Youth Fitness Program.

However, Trump has decided to reverse that policy and bring the test back.

In the last version of the test, challenges included a choice of pull-ups or pushups, a 30-foot shuttle run, and the Sit and Reach.

When McAfee spoke about the Sit and Reach, Bryson DeChambeau was a guest on his show.

DeChambeau is serving as the chair of the President’s Council on Sports.

Pat McAfee’s playing days

Pat McAfee enjoyed a hugely successful stint before switching to a career in the media.

The talk show star played punter in the NFL for eight seasons from 2009 to 2016.

He was a seventh round NFL Draft pick in 2009 out of West Virginia and spent his entire career with the Indianapolis Colts.

The ex-punter was named to the Pro Bowl in 2014 and 2016, and he was a first team All-Pro in 2014, as well.

McAfee owns the unique NFL record of the highest career net average punting yards with 41.4 yards while his longest ever punt was 74.

McAfee begged to know if the Sit and Reach would be staying in the new version of the test.

With a smile DeChambeau told McAfee “We are taking that out.”

DeChambeau said the entire exam is getting an overhaul, including how it is scored.

The effort is being led by WWE‘s Triple H.
