They will be joined by schoolchildren from Manchester and south London as they tour the gardens.

The royal couple will chat to the youngsters about activities aimed at helping them connect with nature.

Today’s visit marks the first time the Princess has been at a royal engagement since appearing at Wimbledon in July.

It comes after Kate, Patron of the Natural History Museum, has spoken how getting back to nature helped with her cancer recovery.

Last March, Kate released an emotional video revealing she had been given a shock cancer diagnosis.

And opening up on her cancer battle earlier this year, she told how nature had been her “sanctuary”.

The Princess of Wales narrated the moving video, which reflected on her and Will’s anniversary trip to the Isle of Mull in Scotland.

In the video, the Princess of Wales speaks about the importance of nature.

She explains that it has been her “sanctuary” and urges people to “make the most” of Spring.

The Royal said: “Over the past year, nature has been my sanctuary.

“The natural world’s capacity to inspire us, to nurture us and help us heal and grow is boundless and has been understood for generations.

“It is through nature, that we can fully understand the true interconnectedness of all things.

“The importance of balance and the importance of renewal and resilience.

“Connecting to nature helps us to experience a deeper sense of ourselves, the world around us, and each other.”

Kate also mentioned how the change of the weather often brings a rebirth.

Posting on her Instagram account, she said: “We are celebrating humanity’s longstanding connection to nature.

“We are celebrating its capacity to inspire us and help us to heal and grow in mind, body and spirit.

“As we confront the challenges of an increasingly complex and digital world, the importance of the connection between humanity and nature takes on even more significance.

“The Mother Nature series is a reminder and reflection of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.

“It is a tribute to the lessons we can learn from nature, helping us to foster our own growth, strengthen our bonds with the world around us and each other.”

While she speaks, pictures flash up of the Princess and the Prince of Wales on their trip to Mull earlier this year.

It shows stunning clips of flowers, rivers, scenic landscapes, and the Royals couple outside.

“Spring is a season of rebirth, of hope and new beginnings,” she continued.

“From the dark days of winter, the outside world quietly awakens with new life.

Kate captioned the post: “Our lives flourish when we cherish the bonds of love and friendship.

“It has never been more important to appreciate the value of one another, and of Mother Nature. Here’s to Summer. C.”

The princess recorded the voiceover on the two-minute video, but she nor her family appeared in the film.

In July, the mum-of-three spoke about the “difficult phase post-treatment” as she met with hospital patients and planted roses.

The Princess visited RHS Wellbeing Garden at Colchester Hospital in Essex.

She met with NHS workers and planted some of her ‘Catherine’s Rose’ plants in the recovery garden.

Kate told staff: “You know I think there’s a lot of brave faced stoicism through treatment, but then treatment’s done.

“I think the phase afterwards is really difficult, I mean, you know, you’re not necessarily in a clinical team any longer.

“But you’re not able to function normally at home as you once used to.

“And actually, someone to help talk you through that, show you and guide you through that phase that comes after treatment.

“I think it’s really valuable to have a space like this here for patients.”
