BRONWYN Newport has a history of being a ‘social climber’ who uses a ‘fake’ persona on the Bravo show, her ex-husband, Brodie Stringer, has claimed in an exclusive chat with The U.S. Sun.
The reality star has been accused of similar personality traits by her The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City co-stars since making a polarizing debut on the Bravo show in 2024.

Brodie Stringer speaks out about his marriage to Bronwyn Newport[/caption]
Bronwyn, 40, was married to her childhood friend, Brodie, years before she became a leading lady on RHOSLC.
The two tied the knot when they were in their early 20s back in 2009 after decades of knowing each other in the Bay Area, California, where they both grew up; however, their marriage ended after just a year.
On the reality show, Bronwyn has not opened up about her first marriage and solely focuses on her relationship with her current husband, Todd Bradley, 66, whom she wed in 2016.
With the aura of mystery, Bronwyn’s coyness about her past has raised questions from her co-stars and viewers alike.
However, more about her past is finally coming to the forefront as Brodie opened up to The U.S. Sun about his time with Bronwyn.
The entrepreneur, who helps run successful businesses in Northern California, admitted that he is “not in the least bit surprised” that Bronwyn pursued fame on a reality show.
“That’s just how she’s always been. You know, and good for her. She got what she wanted, and she’s halfway there, I guess. I mean, that’s exactly who she is. And I guess you can’t fault her for it. You can’t be mad at her for it.
“It’s just what she’s wanted. She got it. And I think she, in her mind, would do anything necessary to get that, if it has to be good or bad.”
Brodie went on to explain that in his opinion, Bronwyn was “always this kind of social climber” both during their marriage and afterwards.
“She has this kind of fake persona that she puts on in front of people, in front of the limelight.
“Like watching that, it’s kind of she always has some sort of like, I don’t know how to put like, a dark, behind-the-scenes.
“It doesn’t surprise me that whatever drama is going on in her life, I’m just not surprised. I’m not at all surprised that that’s there.
“To tell you the truth, I know nothing about it, nor do I want to know anything about it. But yeah, it just seems like she puts on this act and then, you know, behind the scenes it’s just a whole different person.
“It’s the Wizard of Oz behind the screen,” he said, referring to the “great and powerful Oz,” who ended up being no more than an ordinary man on the other side of the smoke and mirrors.
Bronwyn’s co-star and former close friend of many years, Lisa Barlow, has made similar claims on the show that she finds the Bravo newbie to be “fake” and primarely “concerned with climbing the social ladder.”
The former friends duked it out all last season when Lisa consistently accused Bronwyn of “constantly lying” and “being a different person” on camera.
One of the lies Bronwyn got caught in, which she later admitted to, was boasting to the group that Todd had purchased a $4 million diamond necklace for her, which turned out not to be true at all.

While Brodie isn’t a regular viewer of RHOSLC, he has confessed to tuning in here and there and has watched clips of the show circulating online.
When asked what he thinks of his ex-wife’s appearance on reality TV, he was quick to mention that Bronwyn “doesn’t seem genuine, that’s for sure.”
“You know, just listening to her talk on the show, from the small little clips that I’ve seen, it’s prominent, alright.
“It’s not like she changed herself. She hasn’t. She’s, you know, grown up. She just seems, maybe, a little more calculated in how she’s manipulating people.
“She had kind of this little bit of a dark side of how her personality was. And, you know, I bet she’s not happy.
“You know, she’s just gonna keep looking for the next best thing and more and more and more fame or this.
“The other gals in the show, you know, start the drama. And she’s just one of those girls that just looks for the drama. She loves the drama.
“As long as she’s in the limelight, she’s fine with it. So I guess, you know, that’s what people, I guess, in reality TV want. Especially those Housewives shows that I’ve seen, man, it’s exhausting.
“The small little clip that I saw, it’s like, woof. If I was Todd, I would stay far away from that show,” Brodie said with a chuckle.
Bronwyn’s reps did not respond to The U.S. Sun for comment.

According to Brodie, the last time he heard from Bronwyn was over the Summer in 2025 when she reached out to him after fans dug up photos from their time together and posted the pictures online, which included her daughter, Gwyn.
At the time, Bronwyn screenshotted the fan post and clarified with her own comments about her time with Brodie and his connection to Gwyn, whom she already had from a previous relationship.
“My ill-advised, brief marriage (which I have always referenced in my public Q&As and never hidden) to this man does not make him Gwen’s father,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories.
Despite their marriage ending and the duo parting ways, Brodie maintains he wishes “nothing but the best” for Bronwyn and is “happy” to see her get what she wanted.
Bronwyn joined the cast of RHOSLC for season 5 in 2024 and immediately became one of the most buzzed-about ladies on the show due to her quirky fashion sense, proclamations of wealth, and marriage to wealthy businessman Todd, who is 26 years her senior.
Despite a rocky rookie season, Bronwyn returned for round two on season 6 of RHOSLC – which airs Tuesday nights on Bravo.
She is joined by her frenemy, Lisa, along with returning stars Mary Cosby, Meredith Marks, Angie Katsanevas, Heather Gay, and Whitney Rose.
