Rocker forced to cancel live gig amid health battle as he posts concerning hospital bed snap

POP-punk icon Justin Courtney Pierre shocked fans by abruptly cancelling his MCS Yacht Club performance after posting a troubling image from his hospital bed.

The Motion City Soundtrack singer, 49, was hooked up to IV lines and monitors, and said he was “trying not to hate himself”.

His snap decision left staff and fans scrambling for answers, but he’s also been met with support by fellow musicians.

He wrote on social media: “So, yeah… about that… turns out I’m not gonna make it to the MCS Yacht (Rock) Club performance and I am really sorry about that.

“Spent the day in the ER getting plugged into machines and fed copious amounts of amphetamine adjacent drugs.

“Eventually Dr. M. considered me stable enough to leave, told me I needed to be on bed rest, and to not exacerbate my current condition of total lung f***ery by trying to do strenuous things like walk, talk, or breathe too hard.”

Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump stepped in during the Yacht Club gig on Saturday —an indication of the camaraderie and concern surrounding Justin’s health.

“Rumor has it that the guys have lined up a bunch of radical humans to fill in for my temperamental little throat nozzle, and from what I hear, shit’s gonna get D***tickulous.

“Facts: they won’t even tell me who is singing because they think I’m gonna pull a Tom Holland. I can keep a f****** secret for 24 hours, guys. WTF?

He continued: “I wanna find a way to live stream myself watching a live feed of the show so that people at the show can watch me watching them watch the band play live without me.”

Fans and friends flocked to the comment section to show their support.

All-American Rejects wrote: “Hang in there you sensitive spiritual genie.”

“Gosh hope you’re holding strong! Thinking of you,” one fan wrote.

“Speedy healing, JCP!” echoed another.

“My asthma is really really bad nowadays too. I can hardly leave the house because I can’t go too far from my nebulizer. Feel better big dawg,” a third added.

At present, there’s no word yet on rescheduling or the nature of the ailment that led to hospitalisation. .

Fans will be watching closely for updates—hoping their beloved rocker can rest, recover, and get back in the spotlight soon.

Justin’s had a pretty tough few years after he ended up in hospital in 2021 after he passed out in his bathroom.

He told Louder Sound: “At the end of March, I was staying up way too late and getting up way too early.

“I passed out one night in the bathroom. I fell into the shower and I hit my back perfectly on the tub and I hit my neck and my head on the other side. I couldn’t think.”

His wife found him on the floor and took him to E&R, where he was told he had a concussion.

After the accident, he was bedridden for months.

“I couldn’t do anything. They put me on crazy drugs and I basically just wanted to die,” he said.

He had to wait several months and in July he had surgery on his spine.
