Russell Wilson stunned by New York Giants crowd reaction following another loss to Chiefs taking season to 0-3

RUSSELL WILSON was left stunned by the New York Giants crowd during their defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The quarter-back was not at his best as the Giants fell to a 22-9 defeat.

They are 0-3 for the season and some fans grew restless at the MetLife Stadium.

Fans made their feelings clear and booed at one point in the match.

In the fourth quarter and fourth down Wilson snapped the ball and aimed towards a team-mate in the end zone.

But he was wide of the mark and overthrew by a considerable margin, crushing any home of a comeback.

Fans immediately began booing, which coach Brian Daboll was very understanding of.

He said post-match, “I’d be booing too, to be honest with you, in terms of not being good enough, not scoring, not finishing.

“I understand that. That’s the nature of it. We got to be better.”

Wilson was a little more shocked with the reaction, stating players need to have thick skin to make it in the NFL.

He said, “Yeah, there are highs and lows and always tough moments. You got to have thick skin.

“You got to be able to know who you are, the player that you are, know what you’re capable of.

“Obviously, I’ve been able to show that throughout my career and obviously last week and everything else, too, what we’re capable of as an offense.

“I think they made a couple more plays than us [Sunday night].

“I think it was a 9-6 game for most of the game. Pretty tight.

“We needed one or two big plays. Unfortunately, didn’t come our way.”

It has been a difficult adjustment for the 36-year-old Wilson as he settles into life with the Giants.

He looked bleary-eyed last week as he enjoyed a date night with his wife Ciara.

The couple started dating in early 2015, while Wilson was playing at the Seattle Seahawks.

They announced their engagement in March 2016, before marrying just four months later.

Their wedding took place at Peckforton Castle in CheshireEngland.
