Shikha Singh, who is a prolific performer, lauded for her portrayals in shows Na Aana Is Des Laado, Sasural Simar Ka, Kumkum Bhagya, Naagin 6, etc, is back on the TV screens in the enterprising role of Sakshi Mittal in Zee TV‘s Jagadhatri, produced by Rahul Tewary Productions.
Talking about being back to doing what she is best at, Shikha says, “It’s always good to be doing something that you love doing. So yes, it feels great to hear those beautiful words of action and cut.”
On her role of Sakshi Mittal in the show, Shikha states, “It’s a beautiful and strong Shobha De kind of role, and I always love being the twist in the normal mundanity of the story.”
Shikha, the mother, speaks about juggling between her responsibilities, stating, “That definitely makes me think every time an offer comes as to how to balance it back at home with my daughter, Alayna. But now that she’s 5, she has become so understanding. But whenever I am at a shoot, my heart aches to be with her. I keep on checking her on camera whenever possible because a mum’s heart is a mum’s heart. So yeah, trying every day to find that balance.”
Talking about the team at work, she says, “The team is known to me as I have worked with them in Mahabharat because of Rahul Tewary. Rahul is the kind of person who makes you feel at home and would always justify work at the same time. So I am super proud of him for his new productions and happy to be part of one too. As far as the cast is concerned, I am still new, and so far it’s been great.”
Talking about her expectation from the role, she avers, “An actor’s expectations are always to be appreciated for the work they do because our return is the love of fans. So, I am hoping that they would give the same love they have always showered me and hoping the show also turns out to be a huge success, as it definitely deserves that.”
