San Francisco 49ers announce another roster move after George Kittle and Brock Purdy injury blows

THE San Francisco 49ers have announced another change to their roster ahead of Week 2.

Early-season injuries to George Kittle and Brock Purdy has given the 49ers headaches as they search for their first Super Bowl championship since 1994.

They’ve also faced other receiver issues with Brandon Aiyuk and Jordan Watkins.

In an attempt to solve these problems, San Francisco have signed Kendrick Bourne.

He has joined on a one-year deal worth $5 million.

However, the move coincides with the release of Robbie Chosen from the practice squad.

Chosen, 32, made his NFL debut in 2016 for the New York Jets, having gone undrafted earlier in the year.

He called MetLife Stadium home for four seasons before playing for the Carolina Panthers for three years.

He then had a one-year stint in Arizona before switching back and forth between the Dolphins and 49ers over the last few years.

He was sent to the practice squad last month by San Fran as part of the final roster cuts.

But he now finds himself without a team.

In his nine-year career, Chosen has played 122 games and made 380 receptions.

This totals for over 5,000 yards, with an average of 13.4.

And has 30 touchdowns.

Chosen’s replacement, Bourne, has also played over 100 games in the NFL, for a mix of the 49ers and the Patriots.

He’s made it into the endzone 22 times, recording 3,714 yards.

He will combine with Ricky Pearsall while the 49ers wait for the rest of their receivers to recover.
