THE San Francisco 49ers have been handed a devastating injury blow to one of their defensive superstar.

Lineman Nick Bosa will miss the rest of the 2025 NFL season after his third ACL injury.
The 27-year-old went down in the first half of a 16-15 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told the press that Monday’s MRI confirmed their fears.
He said, “He was pretty confident that he did it.
“You could tell walking on the field, seeing his face and could tell talking to him last night just how sure he was of it and knowing his body.
“And then an MRI confirmed it this morning.”
Bosa landed awkwardly on his knee during a play, and it gave way immediately.
“It’s just how those things happen a lot, especially with ACLs,” Shanahan continued.
“They happen on air the majority of the time, and I know it was his right leg and he just got it caught right there and it went right away.
“I was told it’s as clean as it gets.
“In terms of if you have an ACL, I was told that’s the kind that you want.”
Bosa was a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and has played for the 49ers since.
He won the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award in his first season and won the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2022.
He has also been selected for the Pro Bowl five times.

The defensive end’s injury is one of many San Francisco are facing at the moment.
Star QB Brock Purdy is still out with shoulder and toe injuries, having picked up the knock in Week 1.
George Kittle also suffered a hamstring issue.
The tight end is set to be out for at least a few more weeks, having been placed on the injury reserve list.
Kyle Juszczyk has also been listed as questionable alongside Jauan Jennings, Spencer Burford and Siran Neal.
The 49ers face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 4, hoping to extend their 3-0 record.
