COFFEE lovers will have to bid farewell to some of their favorite Starbucks spots following a huge company announcement.
The top boss of the coffee giant revealed two big decisions that will roll out soon, including a move to shutter hundreds of Starbucks stores.
Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol is actively working to revive the coffeehouse via his “Back to Starbucks” plan, which is aimed at restoring the company’s focus on premium coffee, human connection, and the experience of the chain as a “third place.”
As part of his goal to improve the customer experience and re-establish Starbucks as a welcoming space for human connection, the top boss announced two impending changes in a company news blog post on Thursday morning.
“While we’re making good progress, there is much more to do to build a better, stronger, and more resilient Starbucks,” Niccol began in the post.
“As we approach the beginning of our new fiscal year, I’m sharing two decisions we’ve made in support of our Back to Starbucks plan.”
