SVP will be off air for the next two months[/caption]
SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt is going off air for two months before the college football and NFL seasons begin.
“They’ll be playing football again before you know it,” Van Pelt said.
“We’ll hear Trombone Shorty’s Hurricane Season, give out some winners, we’re gonna be back at it.
“We never take for granted what it is we get to do. I have no clue how long we’re gonna be able to do it.
“We sure as hell appreciate you being out there and letting us keep you company.
“So be safe, enjoy your summer, stay well, until we see you again.”
SVP will return to ESPN on August 26, just days before Week 1 college football games.
Fans are sad to see SVP leave though, and shared their thoughts on social media.
“RIP ESPN’s quality programming for the next 2 months,” one fan said.
“Soooo we’re ignoring one of the four major sports? MLB disrespect is crazy,” another fan said.
“Nooooooooo!” a third fan said.
“We have officially entered the dog days of the summer folks,” a fourth fan said.
“The only good programming for ESPN is gone for 2 months. Ouch,” a fifth fan said.
American sports have officially entered their dog days.

SVP will miss a good chunk of the MLB and WNBA seasons[/caption]
The only major sports left competing are MLB and the WNBA.
The NBA Finals and Stanley Cup Finals recently wrapped up, and the NFL has been in its offseason since February.
For the next two months, the only competitions on TV will be baseball and women’s basketball games.
While many fans are upset with ESPN ignoring these sports, it is the best time for SVP to take a break.
