The $37 million home sits in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains to the north west of the city.

And it offers amazing views of downtown Los Angeles.

The U.S. Sun has obtained drone footage flying over the home.

And construction is continuing at a rapid pace on the plot.

Two separate structures can now be seen taking shape on the plot in a view from above.

Los Angeles Lakers star James purchased the property sat on the 2.5-acre plot in 2020.

The previous home was built in the 1930s with four bedrooms and two separate guest houses.

There was also a tennis court, swimming pool and movie theater.

But James demolished the existing structure and started from scratch.

Contractors have been working hard on the site to build the NBA icon’s dream mansion.

The home will be exactly to James’ specifications when he eventually retires.

And it is a palace fit for a king who has dominated basketball for two decades.

James is not ready to retire just yet.

He recently signed a one-year deal worth $52 million for the 2025-26 season.

The decision was confirmed to ESPN by Klutch Sport CEO and his agent Rich Paul.

He said, “He knows the Lakers are building for the future.

“He understands that, but he values a realistic chance of winning it all.

“We are very appreciative of the partnership that we’ve had for eight years with Jeanie [Buss] and Rob [Pelinka] and consider the Lakers as a critical part of his career.”

James admitted a key part of his decision was his family.

And a video taken while he was out for dinner in Manhattan showed wife Savannah’s true feelings.

James could be heard saying to friends, “Savannah wants me to f*****g retire in the next year or so.”
