Seven biggest stars still without team just weeks before NFL season 2025 start which includes $100m 5-time Pro-Bowler

THE NFL season is nearly upon us and multiple top players are still unsigned.

With just a few preseason games before the regular season starts, teams can still dip into free agency to bolster their rosters.

NFL teams have been consistently battered with injuries at training camp, and will need to find new players in some form.

The easiest way to is to go to players who have yet to sign this offseason.

There are still nearly 200 players in free agency that can be signed at any time.

Here are the best players available at key positions going into the preseason:

QB – CARSON WENTZ

Carson Wentz still doesn’t have a team after spending two years as a backup[/caption]

Carson Wentz’s time as a starting quarterback is long over, but that doesn’t mean he can’t bring value to a team.

Wentz has served as a backup quarterback for the last two years, sitting behind Matthew Stafford with the Los Angeles Rams and Patrick Mahomes.

Teams are always looking for competent play from their backup quarterbacks.

Wentz can still serve as a strong QB2, and will only be 33 years old this season.

WR – AMARI COOPER

The case of Amari Cooper is one of the most intriguing storylines this offseason.

Cooper is just 31 years old and is a proven contributor at the wide receiver position.

He has earned over $100 million in his career and been named to five Pro Bowls, yet still doesn’t have a team.

Cooper had a considerable drop-off in production last season, going for just 547 yards and four touchdowns compared to 1,250 yards and five touchdowns the season before.

Still, he is a proven veteran that would make any offense better around him.

OG – BRANDON SCHERFF

Brandon Scherff is one of the best offensive linemen of the last decade, but his status for 2025 is unclear.

He would turn 34 this season if he decides to play, which is close to retirement age for many linemen.

Scherff has put together an incredible career, making five Pro Bowls and one All-Pro team in 10 years in the NFL.

If he calls it a career, he will have serious shot at the Hall of Fame, but he could continue to bolster his case with a few more productive seasons in the league.

LB – MATT JUDON

Matt Judon got his career back on track last season after missing most of the 2023 season with an injury.

He played in all 17 games for the Atlanta Falcons last season, compiling 5.5 sacks and 41 tackles.

Judon also recorded a pick-six, the first of his career last season.

He is about to turn 33 years old, and can likely play a few more seasons in the NFL before retirement.

DT – CHRISTIAN WILKINS

Christian Wilkins is a newer addition to this list.

He was released by the Las Vegas Raiders just one year into a four-year, $110 million contract.

Some concerns were raised about his health and some alleged antics in the locker room.

Still, he was a proven defensive powerhouse and could make an impact on a new team if he can get fully healthy.

CB – ASANTE SAMUEL JR

It is baffling why Asante Samuel Jr is still a free agent this offseason.

NFL teams appear hesitant to give him a contract after a scary shoulder/neck injury knocked him out for most of the 2024 season.

Still, he was a top-tier cornerback before the injury, registering six interceptions and 176 tackles in four years.

Samuel is just 25 years old and should have a productive future ahead of him in the NFL whenever he signs with a team.

S – MARCUS WILLIAMS

Like many of the other players on this list, it is so confusing as to why Marcus Williams hasn’t been signed yet.

Williams was formerly a prized free agent after leaving the New Orleans Saints after the 2021 season, but his three years with the Baltimore Ravens didn’t go exactly to plan.

Still, he is just 28 years with 16 interceptions and 469 tackles in his career.

The 2024 season was a down year for him, but he has enough talent to be on an NFL squad going into this year.
