Shedeur Sanders publicly called out by Cleveland Browns GM over quarterback’s ‘not smart’ actions following cut talk

SHEDEUR Sanders has been called out for his behavior off the field this offseason.

Sanders, 23, was selected in the fifth round of the NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns in April.

He is currently in a four-way battle to be the Browns starting quarterback.

But the 23-year-old faces stiff competition just for a roster spot.

His dramatic slide down the NFL Draft board came after claims about his attitude.

Sanders was accused of giving the “worst formal interview” ever to one team.

Since he linked up with the Browns, Sanders has been pulled over for speeding twice.

Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry was asked about the incidents at the start of training camp.

“Not smart, just not smart,” he admitted.

“It’s something that we’ve addressed with him.

“Look, he understands the implications, he understands the consequences.

“It’s not just about yourself.

“It’s not just about having a joyride, but that you could injure other people.

“A deer or something cuts in front of you, your reaction time, it’s just dangerous.”

Sanders is currently spending the majority of his time with the third and fourth teams.

Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett have been splitting first team reps.

Dillon Gabriel was selected ahead of Sanders in the third round of this year’s NFL Draft.

And the third-round selection has also briefly had a spell with the first team.

The quartet are all battling to replace the injured Deshaun Watson.

But one of them could end up being cut from the roster altogether.

Sanders said, “It doesn’t make me feel down or it doesn’t make me feel left out or anything because I know who I am as a person.

“I know who I am as an individual, and I know what I could bring to this team.”
