Shedeur Sanders receives brutal update as Cleveland Browns open up on quarterback competition ahead of 2025 season

SHEDEUR SANDERS has received a brutal update as he bids to become the Cleveland Browns’ starting quarterback.

The QB was a surprising fifth-round pick in the NFL Draft this year, with the Browns picking another quarterback Dillon Gabriel selected ahead of him.

Despite that, Sanders had made a good start to life at the Browns and has caught the eye in practice sessions.

From the training camps he has the highest pass completion percentage of the four quarterbacks, with 77 per cent success.

Sanders was 41-for-53 with nine touchdowns (most) and one interception through OTAs and minicamp.

However insiders say coach Kevin Stefanski is impressed with Gabriel early on, with the third round pick quickly learning the Browns’ offensive strategies.

That is a worrying development for Sanders, with ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler issuing a concerning update.

He said on “NFL Live, “Browns coaches did not ask Sanders to integrate the same volume of playbook during minicamp as his counterparts.”

Fowler added that Sanders did not receive any first-team reps throughout Browns camp so the level of competition he faced was significantly lower than the three other quarterbacks.

Sanders appears relaxed about the competition though as he went to work at KFC last week.

The 23-year-old was spotted attending to customers at the drive-thru of a local Kentucky Fried Chicken in Cleveland.

Sanders, along with his brothers, Deion Sanders Jr., a social media producer who’s based in Dallas, and Shilo Sanders, the rookie safety with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, were each tasked with handing out 250 free KFC Fill-Ups in their respective cities as quickly as possible.

Coach Prime announced the task on social media, sending a message to each of his sons, calling them to step up for their communities.

Shedeur was spotted rocking a backwards KFC hat, headphones, and the fast food chain’s shirt in multiple clips.

Deion hasn’t publicly announced the winner of the competition, but in terms of social media numbers, Shedeur appears to have won the battle.
