The shooting broke out in broad daylight on Tuesday afternoon

The shooter fired 30 rounds at a group of people in the Minnesota metropolis in broad daylight on Tuesday, police said.

Cops believe the gunman, who remains at large, knew at least one person in the group.

Investigators are still working to identify the suspect after he fled in a vehicle.

“This level of firepower unleashed in broad daylight is completely sickening and unacceptable,” Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said at a press briefing on Tuesday.

The victims were standing in a group on a sidewalk directly across the street from a Catholic high school when the shooter fired from about 15 yards away, police said.

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School was in session at the time of the shooting.

“It’s deeply disturbing,” O’Hara said.

“Obviously, it’s the middle of the day, we’re standing right next to a high school, and this type of weapon — it’s more for a weapon of war than something to be on the street here.”

‘UNSPEAKABLE’ INJURIES

The suspect likely used a high-velocity rifle, based on “significant” injuries to the victims, police said.

“The damage that was done to the bodies of some of these victims is unspeakable,” O’Hara said.

“Thankfully, we don’t have more people that are dead from this incident.”

All six of the injured victims are adults. The man who was killed hasn’t been identified.

When officers arrived at the scene just before 1:30 pm, they found two victims at the scene: the man who was killed and another who was wounded.

Five other victims, four men and one woman, were found in the area with gunshot wounds.

Three of them were considered critically injured, but all victims are expected to survive.

The condition of the man who was seen in the surveillance footage remains unclear.

Police are still hunting for the shooting suspect, and O’Hara urged anyone with information to come forward.

“We’re doing everything we possibly can to identify those who are responsible for this violence,” he said.

MINNEAPOLIS VIOLENCE

The mass shooting was one of three in Minneapolis that occurred in just 13 hours, according to Fox affiliate KMSP-TV.

About a mile away on Tuesday night, one person was killed and another potentially injured in a shooting outside of an apartment, police said.

A man in his 20s died at the hospital after he was shot multiple times.

Early on Wednesday morning, a shooting in downtown Minneapolis killed a man and injured another man.

The gunman opened fire at close range and then ran away from the scene, police said.

No arrests have been made in the three shootings.
