The chase started in Antelope Valley on Sunday night at about 10.30pm.

It began with Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department chasing down a dark-coloured pickup truck that they believed had been stolen.

But the vehicle eventually came to a stop, and the suspects tried to break into two other cars unsuccessfully.

Instead, they opted to carjack a vast white tanker truck to continue their flight.

Aerial footage shows the truck making its way down Interstate 5.

At one point in the wild car chase, they can even be seen driving the massive vehicle the wrong direction down the freeway.

Fortunately, there are no reports of anyone being hit in the ensuing chaos.

The truck was reportedly not carrying hazardous materials and was probably filled with milk, according to ABC7.

The LAPD said these suspects should be considered “armed and dangerous.”

They eventually left the tanker truck near downtown Los Angeles close to midnight before carjacking another pickup truck.

After this, they made their way to Boyle Heights, where they stopped and switched seats.

Cops lost sight of the suspects after they stole a fourth vehicle and sped off past intersection of Cesar Chavez Avenue and Mission Road.

This is more than 50 miles from where the wild chase first started.

No arrests have yet been made, according to local media reports.

Elsewhere, a shooting erupted on the parking lot of a Target shopping center in Texas.

Three people died in the shocking incident in Austin on Monday.

“This is a very sad day for Austin. It’s a very sad day for us all,” Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis said.

The identities of the victims have not been disclosed by investigators.

According to Davis, the suspect carjacked one of the victims in the store’s parking lot and fatally shot them.
