SIMONE Biles made a statement about gender after collecting an award Wednesday night.

She collected two awards at the ceremony at Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California.
But the gymnast’s acceptance speech raised some eyebrows from fans.
Biles won the Best Championship Performance award for her incredible Olympics showing last summer.
She won the women’s all-around competition in Paris, France.
And Biles’ performance saw her beat Stephen Curry, Freddie Freeman and Rory McIlroy for the award.
“That was very unexpected, especially in a category of all men,” Biles said.
“So thank you guys so much.”
The 28-year-old also paid classy tribute to the victims of the Texas floods earlier this month.
She then added, “I believe in the power of sport, the power of us, and, of course, the power of she.”
Her remark came after a public feud with Riley Gaines over trans women competing in female sports.
The dispute led to both women accusing the other of being a bully.
Biles later apologized to Gaines for her “personal” remarks and deactivated her X account.
And her speech after winning an ESPY drew a response from fans.
“Simone Biles wins the first award, and still the only thing she can talk about is gender lmao,” one said.
Another posted, “Simone Biles says she believes in the power of she but totally cool with dudes playing against women and taking opportunities from them.”

While a third commented, “Hahah Simone Biles wins for best championship moment?
“This is the girl that wants trans women to participate in women’s sports, got it.”
Biles capped off her glory night by winning the Best Female Athlete award.
She beat two fellow Olympians, track and field stars Gabby Thomas and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone.
WNBA star A’ja Wilson was also nominated in the category.
