SNL bloodbath as ‘toxic show set to axe more stars’ – but boss Lorne Michaels ‘saves three favorites’

SATURDAY Night Live is facing a bloodbath after a slew of further stars were axed from the comedy sketch show.

Earlier this month, three fan favorites left the series and slammed the environment as “toxic as hell.”

Now more have been added to the mix – with just three famous faces announced as saved.

MailOnline has reported how Heidi Gardner, Michael Longfellow, Emil Wakim and Devon Walker have all lost their spots.

Yet Bowen Yang, Kenan Thompson and Jane Wickline are all safe.

The Sun has gone to NBC for comment on the new claims.

It comes SNL comic Devon – as well as writers Celeste Yim and Rosebud Baker who were all revealed as leaving last week – all shared farewell posts.

DEVON’S REVEAL

Comedian Devon even revealed the “toxic” environment that he experienced behind the scenes of the hit late show.

Devon took to Instagram to reveal the news in a post which he captioned, “Me and baby broke up.”

Among the snaps he shared was a typed up statement which read, “To me, jobs in this industry feel like a bunch of little marriages.

“Some of em last for a long time if we’re lucky, but most of them are fleeting.

“Permanent until they’re not. That’s the deal. You know what it is when you sign up,” he went on.

Devon added, “Me and the show did three years together, and somethings it was really cool.

“Sometimes it was toxic as well. But we did what we made the most of it what it was, even amidst all of the dysfunction.

“We made a f**ked up lil family.

“More than anything, I’m just really happy I got to do with with Gary and Alex. Really went from running a bar show to working together at 30 rock! It’s a beautiful thing.

“Also, I look caked up in that picture and I feel like it’s important for people to know what I got going on.”

Meanwhile, Celeste Yim shared a post where they thanked every crew member at SNL.

BIG CHANGES PENDING

This comes shortly after the show’s boss Lorne Michaels teased that there will be some major cast changes to Season 51.

The new season, which will premiere on October 4, is set to have a brand new look.

Speaking to Puck News, Lorne, 80, said “yes” when he was asked if he plans to “shake things up” with the cast.

He then admitted that he felt pressure to “reinvent” the show for the upcoming season.

Lorne only confirmed that James Austin Johnson would be returning to play President Donald Trump, with everything else kept under wraps.
