SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Political leaders in South Dakota are reacting to conservative influencer Charlie Kirk being shot and killed at a college event in Utah.
Republican U.S. Sen. John Thune posted on X, saying “There is no place in our country for political violence. Period, full stop.”
Republican U.S. Sen. Mike Rounds also commented on the situation, writing on X, “Please join me in praying for Charlie Kirk, his loved ones and everyone in attendance at today’s event.”
Republican U.S. Rep. Dusty Johnson said he is “”praying for Charlie Kirk and his family.”
“Political violence has no place in our country,” Johnson said on X.
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley wrote on his X account “Violence is never the answer.”
