TODAY Sir Keir Starmer welcomed in Rosh Hashanah – the Jewish new year – by shoving one of Britain’s most integrated and patriotic minority communities under the bus.

But through decades of hard-work, grit and gratitude we have come to take up positions as some of the country’s most pre-eminent doctors, lawyers, professors, economists, soldiers and entertainers.
We adore the UK with all our hearts.
You will never spot a march against antisemitism that isn’t adorned with union jack flags.
Jewish people will never gather for a large ceremonial event without including a heartfelt recital of God Save the King.
But we are now feeling our contribution to this amazing country has been given a metaphorical two fingers by this PM.
Our loved ones are trapped in Gaza’s terror dungeons, and all the while he is rewarding their kidnappers with the gift of statehood.
Many Jews increasingly believe we are being sacrificed on the cold altar of electoral arithmetic.
Centuries of persecution – at the hands of the Spanish, the Russian tsars, the Nazis and Islamist leaders across the Middle East – have left Jews comprising just 0.2 per cent of the global population.
Most live in Israel, which is the only Jewish state in the world alongside 50 majority-Muslim countries.
In the UK there are only one or two constituencies where the Jewish vote makes any significant difference to the outcome of a constituency vote.
This makes us vulnerable to being cast to the wayside when our hopes and desires are not politically convenient.
There are many households in the UK who have the luxury of never needing to fear the wrath of jihadism and Islamist fundamentalism.
They want to see a Palestinian state immediately.
They far outnumber the tiny number of Jewish families who call Britain home and they are far more influential when it comes to determining the outcome of ballot boxes.
I do believe that in the long-term a two-state solution is the best prospect for Israel and Palestine.
But to recognise a second state NOW, when parts of that so-called state are led by Hamas, is a sick joke.
These terrorists worship death and destruction – they employ rape as a weapon of war and encourage kids to aspire to be suicide bombers.
They also hate the West – not even to mention their stone age views on women and the LGBT community.
Most importantly though, they are still holding on to 48 hostages.
British Jews cannot breathe, we cannot live normal lives, while members of our tiny community are being held captive, starved to the brink of death.
Was their freedom a condition for Sir Keir’s recognition? No.
Were there any conditions for recognition placed on Hamas? No.
Sir Keir has effectively condemned the hostages to death, with their Islamist captors no longer retaining any incentives to release these innocent souls.
If the PM wanted to punish Israel, there were many levers he could’ve used that would not have thrown British Jews, and our dear suffering hostages, under the bus.
But we can’t sway an election, so for many Labour MPs, that’s not a problem.
