Matt Cohen who is best known for playing Griffin Munro in General Hospital has been cast as new hunky Detective Burrow on the much loved show.

Detective Burrow will play a pivotal role in the series and will be investigating a major case featuring some of the soap’s key characters.

Further details of the character are unknown at this time, but Genoa City has been in need of a new lead detective ever since the shocking death of Chance Chancellor reports Entertainment Weekly.

Matt landed his first big role playing the sensitive jock, Aiden Dennison on the television series “South of Nowhere” in 2015.

But he has also starred in several films including Boogeyman 2, Dark House,  and Chain Letter.

He had several guest roles including 90210 as Jeremy, and Syd on Rockville CA.

But he is well-known to daytime TV fans as Griffin Munro on General Hospital, a role which he played from 2016-2019.

Fans of the series Supernatural will know Mark from when he played a young John Winchester and the archangel Michael.

Mark is also a Daytime Emmy Award winner for his work as a correspondent and co-host on Entertainment Tonight.

And recently, Mark directed and had a leading role in the feature film, Exes, alongside Ricky Whittle.

He also produced and co-created the adult animated comedy Public Domain, which stars several fellow Supernatural alums.

Last week, it was confirmed that Roger Howarth, whose also known for General Hospital, is also joining The Young and Restless in a new role.

Roger played Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt, the third character he’d played on the soap since 2012, after playing Todd Manning and Franco Baldwin.

Meanwhile, General Hospital fans have moaned about Cameron Mathison’s Drew character and have called for him to be removed from the show altogether.

Soap lovers have long despised Drew’s treatment of his daughter Scout, and his affair with Willow Corinthos nee Tait.

Even though Drew has been the recurring villain that people love to hate, viewers are now calling for him to be written out of General Hospital.

Many have complained his affair with Willow has gone on too long and it was “ruining” the show.
